The Asus ZenPad 3 8.0 Review

With a gorgeous 8-inch display of 2,048 x 1,536 pixel resolution, the Asus ZenPad 3 (Z581KL) is the device you would turn your attention to if you weren’t going to purchase the Apple iPad mini 4, which boasts the same screen properties without the front-facing stereo speakers.

Asus chose “In Search of Incredible” as the theme for its line of ZenPad tablets.

Does that theme mean anything or is it just another marketing gimmick? Let’s find out.

But first, a quick video…

Asus Transformer 3 Pro | 2-in-1 PC Review

During Computex 2016 in Taipei, Asus presented the Asus Transformer 3 Pro for the first time. It was a hybrid beast born to use Asus’s new super bright 12.6″ 3K panel.

The Asus Transformer 3 Pro (official website) is now available with either a Core i5 or Core i7 processor, 8 / 16 GB of RAM, and 256 / 512 GB SSD. Pretty standard in terms of modern-day computing needs.

These specs are offered at a lower base price than the Microsoft Surface Pro 4. We believe this might entice some users to abandon the tech giant for this shy (but shiny!) newcomer.

Asus ZenWatch 3 Review ( The Good, Bad, & Ugly )

The Asus ZenWatch 3 boasts an energy-efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 2100 processor and a 1.39-inch AMOLED display with a pixel density of 287 pixels.

The strap is available in genuine leather or rubber. You can choose from black, dark brown or rose-gold and white color.

The Asus Zenwatch 3 price hovers around $229.99. For that price, you will get an Android watch with a luxurious look and feel.

To clear things first, don’t expect a fully-detailed Asus ZenWatch 3 review. Rather, I’ll just highlight the good, the bad, and the ugly things I found in this Android wear gadget.

SanDisk Ultra II 480 GB SSD Review

SanDisk Ultra II was the SSD drive I’ve decided to buy (purchase link) based on Amazon’s top selling SSD drives list. It came third on the list in the top Internal Solid State Drives offering SATA 3 connectivity. The 1800+ favorable user reviews helped me to seal the deal. I needed that SSD drive for my Lenovo cheap laptop. I was getting tired of the long waiting time for Windows to load and for my applications to work.

Samsung Gear S2 Classic Smartwatch Review

Samsung Middle East sent me their Samsung Gear S2 Classic Smart Watch for review. They chose for me the brown, leather strap version (aka Classic). I took out the smartwatch from the box, charged it with the wireless charger included. Took 2+ hours for a full charge. I connected it to my  Samsung Galaxy Note 5 via Bluetooth. The connection was established smoothly, although I had to install / update the Gear Manager on my phone which took ~10-15 minutes.

Tip: when I tried to connect the Gear S2 to another mobile phone, I failed miserably. I had to ‘factory-reset’ the Gear S2 before I could connect it to another phone.

Samsung SideSync, a must have for Social Media

My life was miserable until someone told me to start using the amazing Samsung SideSync application. Here’s my story:

As a marketing copywriter, I’m tasked with writing content for social media accounts. I’m also in charge of posting the right content to the right social media channel. (i.e. Facebook pages, Twitter accounts, Instagram, etc.).

Using my humble Samsung Android phone, I used to suffer with the inaccurate navigation of the touch screen, the lack of proper copy / paste functions, and most of all: the inability to use the glorious mouse! [Shoot me, I’m an avid point-and-click type of user]

Update in Dec 2016 – SideSync helped me backup my data in spite of a dead screen

My Samsung Note 5 phone died on me with the Purple & Blue screen of death. Thankfully, I had SideSync installed on my Samsung phone. I used SideSync to control my phone and took a full back of all my files. I also deleted everything from my phone before sending it for repair. Once again, SideSync saved the day and become my hero once again.
