According to the Dubai Corporation for Tourism & Commerce Marketing, Dubai currently has over 612 hotels offering more than 85,000 rooms. The Dubai government is hell-bent on monitoring those Dubai hotels very closely to guarantee they offer the best services possible in their class.
Dubai also listens to any complaints by any hotel guests, and if the management did not remedy such problems, they are slapped with hefty fines or worse, face having their license canceled. All of this leads to the high-standards and pampering services offered at majority of Dubai hotels.
These superb services make deciding which hotel to book in Dubai a hard one. Even when you set your criteria to hotel fare, still you are left with plenty of choices, and not to forget the special offers that keep coming out every now and then.
To solve such predicament, in this article I recommend to rely on the wisdom of the crowds. You have plenty of online services and websites for hotel reviews. One can choose one of those, look up the ratings for Dubai hotels, and go with the flow.
Here, I chose HotelsCombined.com (HC) to rely on for such a solution, and from there I picked the 10 Dubai hotels listed below, based on guest ratings.
One of the new Dubai Hotels: Palazzo Versace Dubai
The Palazzo Versace hotel (PVD) got a full score on HC although it’s still in soft-opening stage! Situated in the heart of Dubai, close enough to Dubai airport and other Dubai landmarks, albeit not easy to find but deserves the trip.
(Tip: when driving to the Palazzo Versace, go left from under the Business Bay Bridge, Sharjah direction)
Surrounded by vast gardens and looking on the Dubai creek. Italian elegance in every tiny detail, be it the décor or the Italian food menu prepared by Italian chefs and cooked with Italian ingredients.
Disclaimer: Me and my wife, we went for for High Tea at the PVD. We enjoyed every single bit of it, and I’m quite confident you’d agree whenever you stay there or try one of the many fascinating restaurants lurking in this waiting-to-be-discovered foodie-wonder.
As one guest puts it: this hotel simply exceeds all expectations. Incredible, courteous, and extremely helpful staff. Excellent location, new, clean, and pleasant atmosphere. Brunch at the Raffles will leave any true foodie speechless. Make no mistake, once you stay at the Raffles Dubai, you will be back for sure.
One and Only The Palm
The man-made peninsula, The Palm, hosts many of the iconic luxurious hotels in Dubai and the region as well. Of them is the One & Only The Palm. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, with a long drive from the airport. This is complemented with utmost luxury, a tranquil view of the Dubai Marina, manicured gardens, massive accommodations, 850 square meter pool, plush décor, to name a few.
A stylish, modern hotel (Part of Hilton), set in the heart of Dubai, with elegantly large, fully equipped rooms. Close to the metro station and many landmarks (right opposite to the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre). The free WiFi was praised in many guest-reviews, while the huge bathroom was commended. The big pool is perfect to chill out after a long day in the busy city. The view from the rooms on the Gulf side is creepy, showing real old Dubai, while the Sheikh Zayed side is MUCH better.

JA Oasis Beach Tower Apartments
If you were looking for an amazing view of The Palm Jumeirah, make sure to book a high floor room (i.e. 49th floor!). Spacious flats (3+4 bedrooms), gigantic rooms, amazing views, great service, greater location, with coffee, cooker, & washing machines. Set in The Walk – Dubai, a stone’s throw from many amazing hotels, restaurants, beach, cafes, etc. If you were traveling with the whole family and looking for a feasible accommodation, pick this one.
Fairmont The Palm
Don’t blame me, but many guests like to lodge at any hotel at The Palm archipelago. This one is praised for its pools, excellent staff, great views, relaxing beach, Brazilian restaurant, kids entertainment. Paid weak Wi-Fi, very crowded on weekends and holidays, the trip by taxi from Dubai airport to this hotel costs ~$35.

Shangri La Hotel Dubai
One of the landmark hotels in Dubai (aka an old hotel). Excellent location, near to major Dubai landmarks. Go for a high floor room, high enough to see Burj Khalifa. The club lounge is worth the extra cost. Avoid at major holidays as service level tumbles then.
Grand Hyatt Dubai
One of the prestigious Dubai hotels, back in the day, but now it looks old from the inside, when compared with all other new Dubai hotels. Best suited for business trips, meetings, seminars, conferences, etc. still manages to caters for family and kids with its 3 pools and great restaurants.
You need at least 3 days to experience all what this amazing hotel has to offer. Exquisite restaurants, huge beach front, marvelous aqua park, yet choose the Palm facing rooms, and go for a the highest floor they will allow you to book. A bit expensive, but luxuriously beautiful with loads of activities.
Another one on The Palm! Great accommodations, amazing views, but can’t say the same about the food menu (apart from the Turkish plates) or the ease with which you can reach the location of this hotel. Best choice if you want to sit down to relax and enjoy the romantic scenery.
